Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American sportscaster. Her current role is working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. The ability that allowed her to get her first position as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. There, she worked with the producers of National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was then employed as a reporter by the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. Then she moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories on the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. news in English and also an anchor for the news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. On a trip Antonietta was staying at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered an offer to work. Antonietta, a high-school senior having a clear idea of where she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University in order to find out if the school suited her. In the end, she loved the school and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. When she completed her high school education, she was accepted into the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was an acquaintance. The passion he had for journalism as well as confidence in her own abilities instilled confidence in her. She, in turn attempted to live up to his standards and not disappoint him.
